UK,slim,oblong,small 8vo HB,no dw/dj,as issued, colour illustrated pop-up,1st edn thus.[Printed in Prague,Czech Republic,and published by ARTIA, 1961.] VG+.No owner inscrptn and an absence of publisher's price.Bright,crisp,clean,minimally bumped,creased,rubbed cornered, glossy,paper-covered card boards with colour pictorial illustration with a pull tab which doubles as a pull tab for the following first pop-up inside and with capitalised red lettered title and illustrator's facsimile signature to front cover,a very lightly time-aged/grubbed plain pale yellow fabric/cloth blindspine,rear cover with colour illustrations of gingerbread and pastry items and without text.Negligible shelf-wear,aforementioned minimal bumping,creasing, rubbing with reciprocal paper loss.Front cover illustrated with a lightly creased pull tab of a moveable image of Hansel & Gretel peeping over the roof of the gingerbread cottage,a black cat in the window of the roof,replaced and revealing a witch's head when tab is pulled down.The reverse of this tab doubles up as the father's axe-chopping action of the actual first pop-up of the book.UK,slim,oblong,small 8vo HB,no dw/dj,as issued,colour illustrated pop-up,1st edn thus,6 double-pages excluding both pastedowns which in turn,become parts of the first and last of the 8 pop-ups.The 1st,3rd,5th, 6th and 7th (which also has Kubasta's facsimile initialled signature) pop-ups have action pull tabs.Only the 2nd pop-up has a portion of the trunk of the left-hand edge's free-standing tree illustration missing - all the other pop-ups complete.  Visually the exterior appearance is acceptable, and even internally, the book is also in an exceptional condition/state of preservation and presentation for a book of it’s age and nature, i.e. a child's ephemeral pull tabs and pop-ups book.The faults described prevent a slightly higher and more deserving grading.Despite them,it really is still an exceptional copy for its working pop-ups,cleanliness and brightness.  A remarkable surviving example from the master of pop-up engineering and an uncommonly scarce item.                                       Want more Vojtech Kubašta pop-up books/items?
